episode 1

Hitori Ichigyo
(“One Man, One Job”)

Teiichiro had a saying he would often repeat: Hitori Ichigyo (“One Man, One Job”). Since he would also say, “No matter how far it travels, Nisshin Flour Milling will always be a single arrow,” it is understood that he achieved his success by focusing solely on the flour milling business.
However, despite Teiichiro’s motto of Hitori Ichigyo, in reality he established several new businesses whenever he deemed necessary in order for Nisshin Seifun to remain at the top, building a solid flour milling business overall through diversified management.
Teiichiro’s fascination and appeal as a business proprietor can be seen in the fact that his actual business activities did not begin and end with flour milling.

As a gift for Teiichiro's Beiju celebration, each of his grandchildren writes messages on pieces of colored paper, which were made into a folding screen for display.
